ALEXANDROV & PARTNERS International Law Firm advises the first large Ukrainian investment into German economy

Alexandrov & Partners International Law Firm in cooperation with NOERR Law Firm (Germany) consulted major Ukrainian investor on the acquisition of Billhoеfer Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG, which was recognized bankrupt according to the Decision of Nuremberg Local Court dated August 1, 2009.

Billhoеfer Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG, established in 1911, has been one of the leading German producers of industrial equipment (flatwork laminating, coating, and film laminating machines) for a long time, which was exported to Europe and America. The assets being acquired by the Ukrainian investor include not only movable and immovable property, but also intellectual property rights and all contracts valid on the date of transaction and necessary for business development in future.

The special feature about the acquisition of Billhoefer Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co.KG is that it is the first Ukrainian investment of such size into the economy of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The Managing Partner of Alexandrov & Partners International Law Firm, Dmitriy Alexandrov, headed the team of lawyers which included associates M. Pustovoy and O. Kryzhanovskaya who structured the transaction and advised the Client on tax planning and antitrust regulation under Ukrainian legislation. In particular, Alexandrov & Partners International Law Firm represented the investor before the National Bank of Ukraine in the course of the foreign investment license obtaining. The investment is valued over 3 million Euro.
